Climate and Real Estate
In light of France’s commitment to climate change, a dwelling’s energy ratings (also called diagnostic de performance énergétique or DPE) have become an indispensable to the housing market. Ranging from A (best) to G (G), the DPE measures a dwelling’s energy and climate performance in relation to its electricity and gas consumption. In 2021, the French government introduced new regulations to drive energy unfriendly properties out of the market. Dwellings with energy ratings G and F will be banned from the rental market from 2023 and 2028 respectively, while the rating E is only allowed until 2034. At Bonjour Investments, we are committed to conforming to the new Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) standards to combat carbon emissions and to provide the best value for investors. All our properties have superior thermal insulation through double-glazed windows and isolation materials, which pave the way to the future.
